Keyword Analysis is a function performed by search engines to determine which pages to return in response to a search request. Today's search engines are pretty sophisticated, so it is not enough to stuff your web pages with a bunch of repetititous keywords. For example, if a given keyword constitutes more than 10% of your page content, it may be ignored by search engines as an obvious ploy to increase your ranking. There are differing opinions about what keyword density you should be shooting for, but the average seems to be in the range of 3%. The InterAnnex Keyword Density Analyzer is a web application which performs an analysis on a web page URL that you submit. You will get a ranking of the 50 top words used on the page including how many times each word is used and what percentage this represents of the total significant* content.
