"It is clock for our policy-making organisations to be put back because... philosophical system suctions!"

-Or so says the nonsense-generating algorithms of the Cut'n'Mix Postmodern word machine. One of my first motivations for buying a computer was to find out some way to automate the process of cut-up for creative writing. (The other main reason was to set up a MIDI music composing workstation, but I will expand on that a little later). ROBOCOLLAGE flowed out of the ongoing redevelopments of Cut'n'Mix - and was originally intended for that application, but the buttons, selectors, faders and input boxes were already getting too numerous and complicated to support this additional enhancement. I have been doing paper/scissors/glue collages with cuttings from magazines since highschool, but it wasn't until I started getting into web page design with CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) did it occur to me that I could automate (and randomize) collage building in a software application. Mashup composition methods have always been of great interest to me (whether it be for music, text composition or visual arts). Most recently, this methodology has been carried over to my video production activities, as can be demonstrated in the following video to promote Stargazer Jazz's track, "Mystic Resonance":
